Who am I?

My name is Joanne, and after years of working in different industries while raising my 3 children I decided a change in my life direction was needed.

I've always enjoyed doing massage and body work on family and friends, so decided to further my knowledge in this area. I started with my Certificate of Relaxation Massage which I loved but still wanted to be able to do more. The Diploma in Therapeutic Massage gave me the challenge I was after.

What I like most about the work I do is the difference I can make to peoples life's, be it escaping the pressures of life for an hour, or more ease of movement and mobility.The satisfaction I get from working with individual clients and making a difference in their day to day lifes is beyond anything I have ever had the satisfaction of knowing.

I believe that body work is a key factor to everyday life and well being.

You can choose the value of your choice, either a cost of a treatment or you can choose an amount towards a treatment, which ever you prefer.

Vouchers may be redeemed against any of the treatments offered by Bodyfocus for 6 months from date of purchase.

If you are based out of town and wish to purchase voucher for that someone special in Wanganui, please contact me so i can discuss with you and we can organize an internet payment.

I now can accept international payments via Paypal if you are based overseas.

Client Consultation

At your first visit, you will receive a consultation with myself to discuss your general health and to verify that it is advisable for you to proceed. During the initial consultation, a detailed client consultation form will be completed. This time is very important to enable me to get a good picture of you, your lifestyle and your medical history to ensure that you get the best possible treatment and to ascertain whether you have any contraindications or 'special care' conditions present. For instance, there would be no point in me using almond oil on you if you were allergic to nuts. The consultation brings all this information together, providing me with the basis to work from.

It will be a time for you to ask questions and to get to know your therapist, and I can explain the treatment to you, so you know exactly what to expect.

From then on, you will only discuss your previous treatment and any changes in your life or health. I hope you will see your consultation as the best way of getting the most out of your treatment, and be as open as you can! This is done in order to prioritize your health and the health of your therapist. In the case of certain conditions, sometimes consent will be required from your GP or specialist prior to treatment taking place.

All information received will be treated with the utmost confidence.

Each treatment is unique and is especially tailored to the needs of the individual.
